Diamonds and Hexagons (Geometric Forms)

Diamonds and hexagons are geometric forms which can be used as borders, fill or in conjunction with other geometric forms.

- The first critical part of geometric form construction is the accurate pattern. The patterns can be hand drawn (not recommended) or use paper patterns. The available paper patterns are shown below. These 8" x 10" patterns may be ordered.

Gouge widths (in 1/64 inch) for Diamond Patterns

20        21        24        25        26        27        28        29        30        31        32        3334        36        37        38        39        40

Gouge widths (in 1/64 inch) for Hexagon Patterns

16        18        19        20        21        22        27        29

The patterns are attached with scotch tape. In certain instances it would be appropriate to attach with rubber cement.

- The second critical part is the vertical cut The corners must not overlap and should meet.

- The last critical part is the uniform removal of the chips. The removed chip should be narrow.
